This is a day focused towards mobile and mobile web developers including lots of tutorials, barcamp-style breakout sessions, and panel sessions with industry leaders, developed by Daniel Appelquist and Mike Rowehl from the Mobile 2.0 organizing committee.

The Mobile 2.0 Europe event on June 19 will be held at the Forum of ESADE Business School, Barcelona and will run from 9:00am to 6:00pm with a reception at the ESADE Forum afterward. Julián Moreno-Beltrán – CEO Droiders.com.
Julian will do a session on “Android: Present and Future”, describing the current state of Android platform, the unlimited potential, the first available devices and Android future as next mobile OS..
Guillermo Caudevilla – R&D Engineer at Vodafone Group. Responsible for software activities within the Mobile Browser Evolution area, including Web Runtimes, SOA, Web Services, Mobile Web Servers, Widgets and ECMAScript native extensions tapping into the platform API. Deeply involved in OMTP BONDI project, contributing to Device API definitions and Reference Implementation development.
Lee Davies – Chief Technology Officer at Bango.
Lee joined Bango in 2003 and is Chief Technology Officer, steering Bango’s technology strategy. Bango partners with mobile operators such as Vodafone, T-Mobile, Sprint and Telefonica to enable them to bring their benefits to the web. Lee has over 15 years experience designing and building Internet-based solutions across a range of industries, focussing today on the mobile web, working closely with Internet companies such as Yahoo, Google and Microsoft and handset makers such as RIM, Nokia and Motorola.
François Daoust – Mobile Web Initiative specialist at W3C.
Before December 2007, François helped develop an on-portal mobile search engine called MotionBridge from its first minimalist draft within a small French start-up to a full-featured version within Microsoft. This kept him busy for more than seven years. Then he joined the W3C, where he now serves as Staff Contact for the Best Practices Working Group in the Mobile Web Initiative. François holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Centrale Paris.
Dominique Hazaël-Massieux, Mobile Web Initiative Activity Lead at W3C.
Dominique is the Activity Lead of the Mobile Web Initiative, co-chairs the Mobile Web Test Suites Working Group, and develops tools and applications as part of the W3C Systems Team. He joined intially W3C’s Communication and Systems Team as a member of the Webmaster Team in October 2000; after having joined then lead the QA Activity until September 2005, Dom took part to the Mobile Web Initiative as Staff Contact for the Best Practices Working Group. Dominique holds an engineering degree from the “Grande Ecole” Ecole Centrale Paris.
Wolfram Kriesing – Co-Founder at uxebu.
Wolfram has more than 12 years professional experience in IT. The early involvement in web technologies provides him with deep knowledge and experience for designing and implementing stable and scalable architectures. Additionally he developed a deep understanding for business cases and the Voice of the Customer concerning required products and services. With two equivalently experienced web experts he founded uxebu, a software consulting company focused on RIA client technologies. He has been an active open source contributor on multiple projects and currently is an active committer to the Dojo Toolkit.
Ilja Laurs – CEO Getjar.
Ilja Laurs is Founder & CEO of GetJar, the world’s most popular mobile application distribution and developer community, with over 200,000 registered developer and beta-tester accounts. It has visitors to the site coming from 135 countries worldwide and crossed the 200 million download barrier in March this year. The company also closed a Series A investment from Silicon Valley and London-based Accel Partners. The company is based in both Lithuania and the UK. 1976 Lithuania born, when in secondary school at a time when the country was part of the Soviet Union, Laurs enrolled in an American student exchange programme, which found him a place in a school in Ohio State for a year. He came back to Lithuania to join Vilnius University. Interestingly, he says he decided to do Economics as ‘technology was not considered cool’ at the time, financing his education by teaching English to school students. In the last year of his Master’s degree, he set up Midas Baltics Ltd, a Lithuanian based mobile R&D subsidiary of Midas Interactive Ltd., a UK based games publisher. He headed the development of Midas’ line of mobile products on all mobile platforms — WAP, SMS, J2ME, Palm, Pocket PC, etc. From 2000 to 2005, Midas developed over 200 games. He continues to stay involved in the company.
Jacob Lehrbaum – Senior Product Manager at Sun Microsystems.
Jacob Lehrbaum is a senior product manager at Sun Microsystems and is responsible for product marketing and developer programs for JavaFX and Wireless. Previously, Jacob was product manager for JavaFX Mobile as well as Java ME solutions for advanced mobile devices. Prior to joining Sun in 2006, Jacob was at embedded Linux pioneer MontaVista Software for 6 years where he managed a variety of products for the embedded and mobile markets including launching the company’s Mobilinux product. In addition to being a frequent author and speaker, Jacob also co-founded the popular embedded Linux portal, LinuxDevices.com
Brian LeRoux – PhoneGap and Nitobi.
A leader in user experience and all things AJAX, Brian is Nitobi’s Software Architect. Experienced in developing web applications from concept to creation, Brian believes simplicity is the hallmark of exceptional software. When he is not striving to create bulletproof code, Brian is a founding member of the Vancouver AJAX and Beer Meetup and a regular participant in software events.

Nikolai Onken – Lead Frontend Architect at uxebu.
Nikolai Onken – is committer and community evangelist of the Dojo Toolkit. He is co-founder of DojoCampus.org and the regular Dojo.cast() podcast. Being the lead frontend architect at uxebu, Nikolai is involved in mobile development and is pushing the use of the Dojo Toolkit and other standard web techniques in mobile devices forward. You also might find him at one of the many dojo.beer() events which he is helping to organize in Europe.

Michele Palermo – EVP Product Innovation at Telecom Italia.
Michele Palermo is executive vice president for Product Innovation at Telecom Italia Group, in charge for definition and development of new terminals and services for business and consumer markets in fixed and mobile access. He joined Telecom Italia in 1996 as service development manager and played a number of management positions in service innovation marketing (e.g. director for VAS enabling services, director for web and messaging services, vice president for VAS Service Innovation), leading very innovative projects like world first mobile TV streaming service launch in 2003.
He leads the Next Open Innovation project (shortlisted in 2009 Meffy’s award) and related developer program initiative.
Christian Sejersen – Director of Mobile Engineering, Mozilla.
Christian joined Mozilla in 2007 as Director of Mobile Engineering focused on developing Mobile Firefox. Previously he held a Director of Engineering position at Openwave, where he oversaw the development of next-generation embedded products. Prior work includes the EZ-web browser for KDDI, and the J-Phone (now Softbank Mobile) browser. Earlier, Christian worked for CSC and KMD (Danish ISV’s) and also co-founded a software security company. A native of Denmark, Christian Sejersen holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Copenhagen.
Kevin Smith – Senior Technology Strategist at Vodafone.
Kevin Smith is a Senior Technology Strategist in Vodafone Group R&D, and the project leader for GSMA One API, which aims to facilitate developer access to network enablers across operators. Kevin has 10 years Mobile Web experience, including production of Vodafone’s partner interfaces, editor for W3C specifications, and is an active member of the Vodafone Betavine community.
Riku Salminen – Technical Specialist at Forum Nokia.
Riku has his roots in internationalization and a background in advertising. He’s a hobbyist graphic designer whose expertise in the mobile world lies primarily in Flash and the mobile web, including Web Runtime. He has been with Nokia since 2002. Riku describes himself as a jack of all trades who cannot help thinking outside the box…
Petro Soininen – Chief Engineer – Web Technologies at Forum Nokia.
For more than seven years, Petro Soininen has been directly involved in training, consultancy, and R&D tasks within the Symbian development ecosystem. As a result, today Petro spends the majority of his time at work bridging the initiatives and interests of web developers, Forum Nokia personnel, and relevant Nokia R&D teams.
Petro knows Nokia’s targeted offering for web developers inside and out. In addition to working directly with developers to help them make the most of their applications, he regularly solicits feedback from the developer community to enhance future offerings tailored to their needs.
Jure Sustersic – Business Development Manager at Forum Nokia.
Operating from Espoo, Finland, Jure manages business development activities in the Nokia developer ecosystem and specializes in Location Based Services, Utilities and Near Field Communication. His history with Nokia and developers began as a developer product manager for the S60 platform. Before settling at Nokia he was involved in several internet technology related projects and startups. He holds and MBA in High Technology management at Helsinki School of Economics.
Andrea Trasatti – Director, Technology strategy at mTLD dotMobi.
Andrea is a system administrator and software developer for more than 10 years including 5 years as a consultant. He joined dotMobi in 2007 to design and develop DeviceAtlas.
In the past Andrea also worked on Open Source projects, participated to W3C working groups as invited expert and was editor of part of the DDWG Rec.
Yael Wagner – Senior Product Manager at Sun Microsystems.
Yael Wagner is a senior product line manager at Sun Microsystems, Managing Java ME SDK, JDTS, JDTF and the marketing manager of the open source project cqME. yael is an executive board member of JATAF [JavaTM Application Terminal Alignment Framework], working closely with mobile operators, OEMs and content developers,make JavaTM ME a truly ubiquitous platform for application deployment on mobile devices.
